The vertical orientation is indicated by the volcanic bombs shooting straight up at the center. The shape of the tube and orifice determine the southward vector of the eruption.
"To the right" obviously depends on where you stand. In science, as in conservative politics, one uses cardinal direction rather than that perceived of the moment.

OK, instead of "leaning" to the right, I mean "southward vectoring" to the right.
